Washington DC

The boys very kindly gave up their seats and sat in the squishy back so Hannah and I could have the nicer seats cause we were sick.

The direction reader.

In front of the Jefferson memorial, but we're missing 1, I should crop him in.

The Lincoln memorial.
We were able to feed the squirrels out of our hands!
the Vietnam Wall
Our snack lunch.
In front of the white house
I didn't know the Washington memorial was so huge. We could see the cracks in it from the earthquake.
We went to the Holocaust museum and this was inscribed on the outside wall.
There is a story about this museum but I don't want to write all the details, so I'll just give the short version.
We all went in and had to walk through a metal detector because it was federal property, dad had his leatherman on him, and the security guy measured the blade and it was a little bit to long, so dad said he'd stay outside. But he wanted to go in, so he put the leatherman in a tree that was outside the building. Then he went in and the security guy asked him if he crossed the sidewalk to put the knife down, I guess dad didn't think he meant literally so he came in and tried to find us, he didn't end up finding us though. Anyway, when he came out he couldn't find the leatherman:( So the moral of the story is take security guys seriously, and don't hide anything in DC!

We wanted to see more in DC but we didn't feel well enough to walk anymore. We were planing in staying in VA that night after we were done but we left early enough to make it all the way to the conference center.

These yougn guys had this car atached to a uhaul and tried to pull into the gas pump but the car hithe the cement block beside the pump and they couldn't get it out so some of us went over and picked up the car and moved it so they could put the uhaul on it and pull out. It was rather comical.

So How Many Bibles Do You Have?

I was just recently at a christian book sale with hundreds of bibles at my finger tips, that got me thinking about those around the world who feel blessed to have 1 bible in their church or per household. So today I went around our home and collected the bibles I could find, and saw how blessed we really are, bibles are something I know that I take for granted. I have resolved, even though I may not be called to foreign country's or to translate the bible into other languages, I can still pray everyday for those who are called to that ministry.

It's a Boy!!

So I admit, I was wrong; he's NOT a girl.  Praise the Lord Gabriel Edward is a healthy little 7lbs 2oz, 20 1/4 in. long baby boy. He's so cute! He looks quite a bit like Marshall's baby pictures. Kayla is doing well.

I will post more soon, but there is 17 people in our house for a few days so I can't right now.
